Dear Artist,

as you are well aware of, the Visual Arts are not only a means of communication addressed to the general

public; they represent the depth of the universal thought “speaking” to the entire Humanity.

Your intellectual and artistic experience, worthy of your position in the world of Art as a Painter and/or Sculptor

and/or by any other definition, is based on a word dating to the origins of man's appearance on Earth: Love.

Right the Love that makes you able to realise, create and compose peering into the deepest folds of your soul,

beyond the immediacy of any compositional structure.

Even in spite of the appearance of a simple workmanship, your work turns out to be complex for having been

conceived and assembled - also from a psychological point of view - in rediscovering the primary meaning of

life.

Your Art, from time to time, reveals the deformations of a civilisation such as ours: as an interpreter of your

contemporaneity, yours is the insight into the present for the future, beyond the artistic grammar used.

It is in this perspective that the Visual Arts deserve their experiential value.

Art in the transparent freshness of a divine spring is a source of rebirth even for those with no academic title;

your personal pedagogy bears the seal of the sacredness of the Visual Arts, and your compositional structure

responds to a content expression belonging to the inexhaustible pages of the History of Art.

Indeed, the pages of the great Book of the History of Art created by the artists of the calibre of Caravaggio, are

marked by more recent artists whose pictorial and/or sculptural grammar is, at first glance, simpler and more

simplified, with no rationale, except the perfect harmony with the changing times.

As for your creativity, reading your Works stimulates the meditation towards transcendence and re-proposes

the theme of the supernatural and the divine in everyday things, in a world very often and sadly dominated by

the planning of ‘single thought’ and materialism.

The theme of compositional utility as didactics, represents the projection of a principle rooted since the ‘Night

of Times’ and, as such, requires an education based on love for God and for one's fellow human beings.

There is no Artist in the world, even among Atheists, who does not experience creative transcendence.

It is in the concept of Art History that lies the key to understanding life itself.

Love is always a conquest and follows a track through which, the Artist, measuring herself/himself, reaches – in

between ecstasy and torment - the deepest creative intensity of the human soul.

The greatness of your work is thus revealed in the individual's cultural identification as supreme good.

In a society where the sense of expectation is lacking, you succeed in placing an expectation that offers the

observer the opportunity to trust the greatness of the compositional and creative quest as opposed to the

widespread evaluative superficiality demonstrated by Art Operators keen on a purely exterior synthesis.

We, don’t.

We believe that the Works of Authors endowed with a distinct intellectual depth, who recognise themselves in

our associative principles, represent the ‘Spiritual Lymph’ that makes the roots fertile, which in turn, give life to

the germination of the of the ‘Divine Seed of Art’: nourishment and guidance for the future Generations

handing down the art essence from Father to son and from sons to sons coming into the world.

We look forward to having you with us on Saturday 7 December in Lecce, to meet you personally.

TIME MACHINE: Perception, Memories and Transits between Past and Future

The group exhibition of international contemporary art entitled TIME MACHINE: Perceptions, memories and transits between past and future opens Saturday, May 18, at 7 pm at the Renaissance venue of Palmieri Foundation in Lecce. The show, under auspices by the Municipality of Lecce, is curated by Dores Sacquegna. Exhibition catalogue on display.

The exhibition and the works

Telling Time, crossing it by following scientific or narrative trajectories that are different from time to time, is the idea that moves this new project curated by Dores Sacquegna. Time Machine, is a multidisciplinary contemporary art exhibition and that through artistic expressions such as visual arts, music, cinema, and performance, becomes a fluid archive, which is at once visual, sound and poetic, proposing different and unexpected places of reflection on the present. The exhibition is divided into two cycles and experiments with time as a transitory nature, revolving around the human condition between past and future. It is up to the viewer to decide from where and how to enter: one could start from memory and its de-construction to reflect on questions of identity, time, memory, history, traversing its discontinuities and temporary states or one could dwell on the idea of flux or landing place where nature is unpredictable, and time is irreverent.

In the first cycle on Archives of memory with the de(construction) of belonging include artists such as Nancy Barwell (born in Algeria, she lives in France) whose works are poised between the depth of their roots and nostalgia. On questions of identity, memory and survival are the micro-sculptures by American artist Ronald Gonzalez. On intertemporal and interspatial dialogue with history and the future, the video titled “Eva Clone Babel I” by Taiwanese artist Pey-Chwen Lin, between post-human, cybersexuality and towers of Babel. The preservation of humanity is invoked in two works by Luxembourg-based artist Margot Reding-Schroeder that invite us to reprogram ourselves in the vibration of life. Between classical art and contemporary imagery, research on past masterpieces in the textures by Italian artist Nunzio Lobasso with a work that pays homage to Monet. Nature and artifice are present in the imposing tetragonal plant titled “Post Xalento” by Italian artist Salvatore Sava, which plays on the memory of the olive tree devastated by the Xylella bacteria. Rising from the ashes is the phrase evoked in the work by New Mexico-based German artist Verena Schwarz and amid racism, poverty, dispossession, and marginalization, goes the film by French artist and filmmaker Clotilde Verriès present among others with pictorial works inspired by music and tragedies in the Mediterranean in which non-places emerge from the undone distances.

The second and final cycle is about Transits, drifts or landings with conceptual art of presence by German artist Eva Breitfuss, as well as new eras, geopolitical prayers and northward migrations by French artist Sandra Detourbet. Between imaginary itineraries, algorithmic matrices, and psychic automatism, respectively, the works by American artist Sara McKenzie and Austrian artist Marco Riha, based in Mexico. The condition of human frailty is investigated through stories of travail and isolation, of limitation and overcoming in the works by Belgian artist Gaka Mira. Attachment and detachment beyond timelines and life spans is in the video “Flux: on the road” by Turkish artist Deniz Sak, touring the Festival in Greece and the CICA Museum in Korea after a stop in Lecce. On simultaneity and randomness is the pictorial diptych by Greek artist George Syrakis. The ocean takes centre stage in the works by French-Mauritian artist Dorine Valorge, the transitional nature between decay and cyclicity in the video by Chinese artist Xieni Zhou, and tribal symbols of indigenous cultures in the work Ancestors in the Cosmos by Canadian artist Lajah Sage Warren.

Performances

During the opening, French artist Sandra Detourbet will perform “Spatio-Temporal Outbreak,” an electrifying sound and visual experience that mixes theatre, voice, dance, video art, and digital sounds, and Italian m° musician and conductor Alberto Nick Bolettieri will perform “Re-Construction Sound Machine”, a sound game that aims to reconstruct the timeline of rhythmic beats and melodic cells, proposing the interaction between the use of modern sound software and ancient wind instruments such as the trumpet and trombone. A unique time journey and Total Art performance.

COMING SOON!!!

Press release

Galleria Tolomeo di Milano via Andrea Maria Ampère, 27

Presents: "Contemporary Proposals"

Opening Monday, March 25, 2024 5:00 p.m.

The exhibition, constitutes an interesting comparison of the themes that best express each Artist's research.

In the coloristic rhythms of Eva Breitfuss there are geometries of the soul and tonal notes of a painting made of fragments of harmonies.

With Audrey Traini there is a return to fantasy that captures in the aspects proper to the fairy tale her being an artist.

Aldéhy with her portraits captures with sensitivity and pictorial expertise the most secret aspects of the soul.

With Giancarlo Cerri we experience the harmony of colors that dialogue in sharp backgrounds that are never inappropriate.

In Bianca Vivarelli's landscapes we find the climates of nature and the colors that dress the seasons.

Tonal painting of atmospheres with muted and nostalgic colors characterize the paintings of Tina Hellblom Thibblin.

Camilla Vavik Pederson's painting is a journey into dreams that make her colors come alive in paintings that originate from the soul.

In the nostalgia marked by melancholy skies and rough seas that are lost in deep blues live the works of Annalisa Carta.

In Valerio Tanini's enigmatic architectures we find the spiritual silences of cities.

Reflections discourse with the imagination giving meaning and fascination to Isabella Carbuccia's works.

Time and space live in the harmony of the works of Luigi De Giovanni, who finds the meaning of living in colors.

The exhibition will remain open to the public until March 30, 2024

HER STORY 2024 EXHIBITION

Extraordinary Art by Women
March 20 – May 31, 2024

A Diverse Range of Subjects, Styles and Mediums

Manhattan Arts International has been presenting “HerStory” online exhibitions since 2000

Our Purpose for “HerStory” Exhibitions: For centuries women artists have inspired and enlightened us with their enormous talent, vision and commitment. Many have served as creative trailblazers in their chosen styles and mediums. Their contributions have gone under-recognized and they haven’t received the accolades they deserve.

Manhattan Arts International will continue to present annual “HerStory” exhibitions until there is a fair and equal balance of women artists represented by art museums, galleries, art book publishers, major private and public collections, auction houses, and the media. ~ Renee Phillips, Director and Curator

“HerStory” 2024 Is An “Invitational Exhibition”: Previous “HerStory” exhibitions were open calls. This year we focused on featuring women artists who are Artist Members from the three Manhattan Arts International Galleries and The Healing Power of ART & ARTISTS (HPAA) Gallery. We also include Artists from our Art Review Series on the HPAA website.

To learn about exhibitions presented on the Manhattan Arts International website visit Manhattan Arts International Exhibitions.

ApuliaAste, in collaboration with Association MaterAcqua, is glad to announce the collective exhibition Be Yourself – Be Contemporary, curated by Art Historian Dr. Carmela Loiacono, that will be held at cultural venue Lega Navale in Matera, from February 10 to 28, 2024

The exhibition aims to explore the creativity understood as an infinite space of emotions and feelings, manifested through signs, shapes and colors, generating works that communicate the expression of the human soul.
The creative act is free, pure, subjective, dictated by the knowledge, impulses, fears and desires of each artist, who is invited to reflect on the human condition in relation to the contemporary society.

The collective exhibition Be Yourself - Be Contemporary is part of RenovArt | 100 Artists for the Future, curatorial project dedicated to the best international artistic talents, that stems from the strong need for a new rebirth in the field of art, as a sign of renewal, development and incentive for international artists to develop and increase their artistic skills for the knowledge of Contemporary Art.
